What did you think of the movie Star Trek: Nemesis? How did it compare to the other Trek films, especially the other even-numbered Trek films? Do you think there will be another Trek movie, and who will be in it? See movie details here.

I think this is the end of the Star Trek movies- The series has nop legs past TV these days-and the reviewers never seem to get over Kirk and Co.

You know, Nemesis is actually a great movie. Maybe a bit lite in some of the character development, but I believe it is the most solid Nextgen movie. It pains me to see it doing as poorly in the box office as it is. Even Insurrection pulled close to 90 million. I blame Paramount for releasing it only a week before The Two Towers. Paramount should have waited until next year to release it. Other than that, it is one of the better movies I've seen this year.

True enough, Nemesis could have been really spectacular, but I do not believe Paramount and Rick Berman want to spend the money or relinquish the control to a Director that is strong in character development (and in this case, continued development). The heart and soul of Star Trek has long been its depth at reaching into the core of life as a whole and extracting the various views and levels and plains and dimensions and purposes--hindsights and foresights, fears, hopes and dreams as viewed by each of us.
The action was always a byproduct or icing on an already delicious and fresh cake, that made the rememberance of it all the more palatable in our minds, looking forward to the next time one was baked.
Star Trek--in all of its original campiness, was always physically bright, colorful and above all, cerebral. These are the Star Trek roots. When the creators of DS9 returned to the Star Trek roots, the show excelled, however like most things, if the damage has lasted too long, when the medicine is applied, it will not heal.
Nemesis suffered from everyone involved being away from the helm for too long. True, it is nature that we all age, but the TNG crew of Nemesis has aged too quickly. Too many extreme close-ups of their faces, not enough movement and lines often delivered out of sync or without involved emotion. Trek fans are far from stupid. We have no choice but to accept the mundane run of "Enterprise", but Paramount and Rick Berman should recognize that these self same fans are making a statement, which broadcasts the dismal fiscal performance of Nemesis.
Jonathan Frakes did an extremely good job of directing "First Contact". And the entire Star Trek development crew did a great job of putting together the very last episode of ST:Voyager.
Go back and look at what worked. Absorb it and then and only then, write a new script and begin shooting a new movie! And we will come (back again)!

I quite liked it, except for two things.
One - the wedding scene. Too much editing.
Two - this isn't quite as bad, but the very end. It would have been better if we could have seen the Enterprise fly in one direction and the Titan in the other, and the Titan be Galaxy-class. That would have been a better rounding-off thing.
But apart from that, great movie. 9/10.

I liked nemesis it was good... I got it on DVD and wish they left some of the deleted scenes in.
For the TNG crew the best movie would be First Contact

I thought that Generations was the beat TNG movie. First Contact was too gory, Insurrection was cheesy, and Nemesis was too sad!

An addition to my review: I think Nemesis will be the last TNG movie. Not because it was bad (because it wasn't) but because it cleared up all the character arcs and so on and the crew splitting up was an obvious finish.
And I take back my complaint about the wedding scene editing. That'd bring it up to 9.5/10
In summary, great movie, fitting end.
