New to this site. Whoever you are...Wasn't very first pilot only 1/2 hour long on NBC? Seems like it. (1966)<eugene.freeman@yahoo.com> , Greg. Eugene, Oregon, USA.

My favorite episode is "A Taste Of Armageddon" It had a cool storyline and we saw how effective Scotty and McCoy were when left in command of the Enterprise.

(1966) No, the first episode was probably one of the longest -- back then, there were fewer commercials, so each episode was about 50 minutes long. Nowadays, TV shows are only about 42 minutes long, including the credits, so the first few episodes of "Star Trek" were also the longest episodes to be filmed. By the time of "ST:TNG," episodes were about 46 minutes, and by the end of "Voyager" and "Enterprise" on network TV, they were down to about 43 minutes or less.
