Back in the mid-'90s I worked at Variety, where I acquired several VHS copies of DS9 and Voyager episodes that had been sent to Variety in hopes the episodes would be reviewed. What's interesting about these tapes is that they were pulled before the episodes were fully produced - in particular, the sound hadn't yet been added. No theme music, no background noises, and in place of computer voices or voice-overs there's some assistant director reading the lines. You hear actors' feet on plywood. It's fascinating.
I am reaching a point in my life where I no longer want to hoard such items, and so am considering putting them up on eBay. Do you think there would be interest? Or would the Viacom police come knocking at my door?
