Its a valid question--and my answer is--does it matter that there are inconsistencies.
I dont watch Star Trek as a 'reviewer'-just as a viewer.
Yes-their are inconsistencies--and yes, I DO notice them--but overall they dont matter.
As for the writers--well--Voyager quite definitely has the very best story lines of any Star Trek yet--some of them are pure drama--some are pure melodrama, some are just plain exciting and others (not many) are just ratehr average--much the same as any other TV series really.
When Voyager is good--then it is very very good indeed.

There is a valid point to be made , there are to many flaws in Star trek not just voyager .So many holes in the plot its unbelievable . I guess the writers should have employed 3rd graders to write a better set of plot lines . But I don't lay the blame solely at the feet of the writers,I do lay blame to Rick Berman & Pet . You can only insult your audience once , Rick Berman tried to get away with it before with Generation and the final episode of Voyager . But I congratulate him for Nemesis that was in deed the final insult and no doubt the final nail in the coffin that holds the dead corpse that is Star trek .
i think they treid to make the series basic but exciting. but the writers DID NOT do a good job of hiding the odvious answers from the audience. basicly, i think the episodes would have been alot shorter if they had just gone with the simple solution. for example, when b'lanna and janeway were in the delta flyer that was firing a decion beam at a spacial distorsion they wre caught in, they tried to go back to voyager but there were two voyagers and they did not know wicth one was real. simple, instead of arguing about it. why didn't they try contacting them!!!!! i mean janeway never said anything about comunications down. i have watched the whole series and yes, the plot is very shallow and it looks like two guys wrote it just to make alot of money.
oh and by the way, some people have dislexia and can't spell things right.
