I would appreciate any input from other trekkies about my story. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm dead in the water as to ideas.

Well ladies and gentlemen as well as third gendered aliens. My story has won the regional level of a local short story competition. ttfn

Several years ago I wrote a novel, STAR TREK: TNG: DATA'S SOUL, which got me a NY agent and went all the way to PocketBooks before being turned down because 'you changed a major character and only the TV series can change a major character.' Apparently they thought I'd given Data a soul. Now I've come up with an idea to rewrite as a non-ST novel, but this is my homage to ST and Gene Roddenberry. Any suggestions on how I might get a letter to Majel Roddenberry or anyone else who might have influence enough to get PocketBooks to reconsider? Everyone agreed that the novel was good and worked, they just couldn't get around that soul thing.
