Has the Star Trek Phaser I & II ever been shown being separated or joined together in an episode or movie?   |

Has the phaser ever been shown being separated?
In the episode "The Enemy Within" Sulu is seen placing a phaser 1 on a phaser 2 body before he shoots some rocks to heat them up.
